How We Work
As architects, we understand that successful projects that exceed client expectations require listening, understanding, challenging, testing, and hands-on involvement.
We invite you to visit our studio to discuss your project and let us explain how we approach the design, documentation, and building process.
We work with our clients to resolve the project brief and establish the estimated construction budget, and viable project design, consent, and construction timeframes.
Once the project specifics and the scope of services are established, we are formally engaged as per the New Zealand Institute of Architects Agreement for Architectural Services.
The architectural services are broken down into eight stages of deliverables as defined by the NZIA’s Agreement for Architectural Services.
These stages are
- Pre design Services
- Concept Design
- Preliminary Design
- Design Development
- Detailed design and documentation
- Contract procurement (Procurement of the building contract between the client and the Contractor)
- Contract administration (Act as a third party between the Contractor and client to administer and manage the building contract)
- Construction Observation (Observation of the contract works to ensure that the contractor builds the building as per the legal documentation)
Fees and Charges
Our professional fees are project specific, and are based on the NZIA's publication Guide to Architects Charges
